Hyyve, Ownright partner to expand digital home sale services

Ownright's property closing features to be integrated into Hyyve's platform linking home sellers to agents

Technology-based real estate companies Hyyve Inc. and Ownright have partnered to streamline the home-selling process by combining aspects of their services into one platform.

The services of Ownright, a digital real estate law firm specializing in property closings, will be integrated into Hyyve’s platform by which real estate agents vie for the opportunity to represent a sale on behalf of a homeowner. Both firms are based in the Toronto area.

Client documents such as purchase-and-sale agreements or IDs on Hyyve’s platform will be transferred to Ownright when the property closing takes place. The aim is for home sellers to “have a unified experience throughout the entire sales process from the listing all the way through close,” Patrick Armstrong, CEO of Hyyve, told RENX Homes in an interview.

This saves time by limiting the time spent document gathering and juggling different platforms when selling a home. Also, Ownright’s property closing service costs approximately one-third less than its competitors, Armstrong explained.

The inclusion of Ownright's service into Hyyve's platform is scheduled for the end of Q2.

Hyyve learned about Ownright from its research for partners that could perform property closings, Armstrong said. As it turned out, both companies share a public relations firm, and when the firm heard about Hyyve’s search, it introduced Hyyve to Ownright.

Ownright’s software was the best fit, Armstrong said, the startup is priced competitively, and it is Canadian.

“Hyyve is redefining how real estate transactions happen, and Ownright is proud to be part of this evolution,” Robert Saunders, CEO of Ownright, said in a release. “By integrating our digital legal services with Hyyve’s real estate listing bid platform, we’re making the closing process smoother, faster, and more accessible for home sellers across Canada.”

Home inspections, moving next areas for Hyyve

Hyyve and Ownright are players in the intersection between the housing sector and technology, promoting digital tools that accelerate the steps involved in finding a home and buying the property, at a fraction of the cost of traditional processes.

Hyyve turns a home listing into a bidding war. Real estate agents compete to represent a homeowner by showing their experience and the services they offer. The aim is to ensure the most qualified agent is chosen and give newer agents the opportunity to prove themselves against more established professionals.

Ownright offers legal services such as property closings on sales and purchases, mortgage refinancing and status certificate review. Done over the internet, the intent is to simplify the process of closing a home purchase and have transparency over the status of the closing.

Hyyve is looking to simplify the home-selling process from listing to closing. Frank Mortgage, iCommission, AI HomeDesign (photo editing and virtual staging for property listings) and Bidmii (a platform that connects homeowners to renovation contractors) have also joined Hyyve’s network of services.

Moving companies and home inspection firms are the next elements Hyyve plans to integrate into its platform.
